BOYD & BLAIR’S SNOWBIRD PUNCH
Punch Base: 1 cup of sugar, Zest of 6 lemons, 1 thumb size chunk of ginger peeled and sliced thin. Add ingredients together and muddle hard. Steep 6 Tazo wild sweet orange teabags (orange pekoe will work also) in 3 cups of boiling water. Let the tea steep for 10 min, remove and discard bags, then add to the sugar mixture while still warm and stir to dissolve sugar. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Remove ginger and lemon peels from the liquid.
Add to punch base: 1 bottle of Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka, 1 cup of lemon juice, 2 cups Cointreau (orange liqueur will work also), 1 liter of Ginger Ale or sparkling wine for an extra kick. Garnish with orange slices and cranberries if desired.
Stir all ingredients together and serve over ice.
BOYD & BLAIR’S HOT BUTTERED RUM
Add 1.5 oz Boyd & Blair Silver Rum to your glass of choice. Spoon in 1.5 tablespoons homemade butter batter. Top with 3oz hot water and stir until the batter has completely dissolved. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Butter Batter: Melt 1 pound of butter (salted or unsalted) in a saucepan. Whisk in 1 pound of brown sugar and 1 pound of confectioners’ sugar until combined. Remove from heat and whisk in 1 quart of softened vanilla ice cream, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
The butter batter mixture can be stored in the freezer for up to six months though we recommend giving the perfect gift this holiday season by dividing the batter into individual containers, printing out copies of this recipe, and giving a bottle of Boyd & Blair Silver Rum to each of your friends.
