We need to remember what’s important in life. Friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. It doesn’t matter. But work is third.
Leslie Knope, Parks and Recreation
We’re totally with Leslie on this one, waffles are top three. Especially with National Waffle Day coming up on August 24! Naturally, we’ve pulled together a bunch of restaurants for you to get your waffle fix. And, bonus, you don’t have to wait for August 24 to start eating your way through the list.
We also split them up based on types of waffles, so you’ll see a few repeated if they have more than one waffle on their menu. Because, let’s be honest, there’s nothing more disappointing than craving a traditional waffle with syrup only to find a restaurant only serves chicken and waffles. Although…can you ever really be that disappointed when waffles are involved? We don’t think so.
Good Old Waffles
Sometimes they’re served with fruit and fixings, sometimes they’re savory instead of sweet, and sometimes you just get them with butter and syrup. There’s nothing better than a classic, good old waffle.

Chicken and Waffles
Chicken and waffles are the ultimate mix of savory and sweet. Salty fried chicken, crisp yet soft and fluffy waffle. We don’t care if they’re smothered in gravy or maple syrup or some fun infusion syrup, we’ll take them any way we can get ’em.

Liege Waffles
If you haven’t tried a liege waffle yet, you haven’t really lived. Liege waffles aren’t your typical waffle. Originally from Belgium, the dough is more like a brioche than a waffle. And it’s studded with pearl sugar that has somewhat melted and/or caramelized while the waffle is cooked. There might not be many options in Pittsburgh, but the ones we have are definitely worth trying. Probably multiple times, just to double and triple check the quality. Ahem.
We know there are *so* many more restaurants serving up crisp and fluffy and delicious waffles…so let us know your favorites that we missed!
