Located in Oakland, Roots Natural Kitchen is a health conscious restaurant specializing in creating your own salad bowls. Build a salad bowl using a protein; grilled chicken, red chili miso, bbq tofu, mushrooms, or non grilled veggies, over a bed of different base options. Bases vary from arcadian mix, brown rice, kale, roots rice, spinach, and bulgur. The possibilities are endless! 

Hello Bistro

If you live in the Pittsburgh area you’re definitely no stranger to Hello Bistro but with their multiple locations throughout Western, PA and salad bar of endless options they’re incredibly hard not to include on this list! Similar to Roots Kitchen, Hello Bistro gives you the option of picking your own greens, proteins, additional veggies, cheese, and even crunchies! Too lazy to pick your own salad? They also offer pre-made salad options from caribbean shrimp, buffalo chicken, greek chicken, thai peanut salad, and more. 

So Fresh

Originally founded in Florida, So Fresh recently opened two Pittsburgh locations in Downtown and Shadyside. They not only have CYO salads, but warm bowls, broth bowls, and wraps. Full of fresh, nutritious ingredients such as but not limited to, long grain brown rice, red quinoa, a host of fresh greens, proteins, and made in store sauces with several vegan options available. Wash it all down with a freshly blended smoothie! 

HoneyGrow

HoneyGrow’s East Liberty location has an array of salad options including Walnut St. Noodle, Greek Out, Cobb, Make it Grain, Kale Chicken Caesar, salads with buffalo drizzle, along with a make your own option. True to their name, they also have a honeybar that allows you to create your own dessert using fresh fruit, and a honey of your choice. Top your creation with homemade whipped cream, local yogurt, vegan and gluten free coconut shavings and dark chocolate chips, granola and much more!
