Cupcakes are the best of all worlds when it comes to cake: you get to satisfy your cake craving, but you don’t have to commit to only one flavor! Plus, they’re social-distancing-friendly, and you can add that to the list of things we never thought we’d think about. We all know and love some of the staple bakeries around Pittsburgh (think Oakmont Bakery, Prantl’s, and Priory Fine Pastries), but here are 8 *other* bakeries you should visit for cupcakes!

Le Petit Cafe and Grille
We’ve been fans of the cupcakes at Le Petit since they opened (read a full feature here)! Their cupcakes feature French buttercream, which is smooth and dreamy. We love their chocolate cupcakes and the surprise filling inside each one.
Le Cupcake Shoppe
You’ll temporarily have to order ahead for your cupcakes from Le Cupcake Shoppe, but they’re worth a little planning! We love their mini cupcakes – because, let’s be honest, we always want to try more than one flavor at a time. And their flavor list is pretty extensive so…we have a lot of sampling to do!
Grandview Bakery
We might not always have a reason to order one of Grandview Bakery’s amazing decorated cakes, but we can always find a reason to celebrate with cupcakes. Plus, we’ll take any excuse for a trip to Mount Washington to look at those city views!
Lola’s Eatery
Their brunch is amazing, their donuts are drool-worthy, but have you tried the cupcakes from Lola’s? Ok, we haven’t yet, but we need to ASAP. The only “problem” we have is deciding which flavor to order!
Food Glorious Food
Another one of our favorite bakeries is Food Glorious Food (read all about it here!). So naturally we had to include them on our cupcakes list! Their flavors rotate, so we recommend stopping in often 😉
Bethel Bakery
When a bakery is known as “the cake place”, you can bet they’re going to have amazing cupcakes! Not only are Bethel Bakery’s cupcakes delicious, they’re some of the prettiest we’ve seen – and we love a good theme like these Shark Week cupcakes!
Potomac Bakery
Potomac Bakery has two locations around Pittsburgh, so you can always get your cupcake fix! Order ahead and customize them – from fillings to specialty shapes – so they’re perfect for any occasion. Or take your chances with what flavors are in the case…you won’t be disappointed.
Prohibition Pastries
Boozy cupcakes? Yes, please! Prohibition Pastries bakes (almost) everything with some kind of booze, and their cupcakes are no exception. We love that they collab with so many local businesses, too!
