Winter has us dreaming of those summer beer festivals. Luckily, there’s always some great local breweries offering new drinks. So, it’s best that we look at some cool new bevs to help us get through! Here’s a list of local breweries, with new pours and classic favorites. Because spring is just around the corner. Might as well enjoy it!

Hop Farm Brewing

Established in 2014, the Lawrenceville brewery has local sourcing, hoppy ales, farmhouse ales, sour ales and lagers. “We take local ingredients seriously, you’ll find them in our beer, in our kitchen.” Check out the new pour–Vibe Manor, hazy juicy slightly diesel-y NZ IPA brewed and dry hopped with Azacca and Riwaka hops

Two Frays

This is “your neighborhood brewery.” Penn Avenue’s Two Frays is all about being  “inviting and kind and offering something for everyone. We are creating a welcoming, inclusive space to offer fresh and flavorful beer, cider, and other beverages.” You’ll want to try the Pittsenbourgh 2023. It’s 5.4% ABV French Style Lager, with the “caviar of hops” Strissel Spalt. Grown in France, slightly fruit sweetness.

Old Thunder Brewing

The Blawnox brewery is the “apex of experience, creativity, and passion. Brewer-owned & brewer-operated, we are dedicated to serving our diverse community, while remaining loyal to the past, present, and future of beer.” Make sure to taste their Menzies’ Wallflower, a classic American Amber Ale brewed with hops from the pacific northwest.

Strange Roots Experimental Ale

Located in Millvale, Strange roots “exists at the intersection of farmhouse brewing tradition and creative, locally-driven.” Their new beer brewers tap: Blood Orange & Pomegranate (6.5%abv) which is the perfect balance of tart and sweet. 

Four Points Brewing

The Western Avenue taproom has on-site pours and cans to go. Get ready because one of their favorites is back. The Baby Ruthless: Citra. Because it’s hopped exclusively with Citra. “Big Citrus notes accompanied by Lychee, and hints of Mango.”
