It seems like there are two types of people in this world: those who celebrate Valentine’s Day, and those who don’t. We love any excuse to celebrate people we love, so we’re firmly on board! But, if you’re like us, it’s also an excuse to support local businesses. That’s why we’ve gathered up a list of 14 shops for your Valentine’s Day gift needs. Spoiler alert – most of them revolve around chocolate.

A519 Chocolates

It doesn’t get more local than A519‘s limited edition Valentine’s Day chocolate collection! We’re talking flavors like Prantl’s Burnt Almond Torte, plus chocolates made with Wigle Whiskey, Paul Family Farm’s maple syrup, and Pittsburgh Winery wine. Or, opt for some of their other chocolates – because they’re so beautiful, you really can’t go wrong with any of them.

Chocolate Moonshine Company

Chocolate Moonshine Company recently opened in Lawrenceville, so go show your support! They’re crafting Moonshine Bars and small batches of fudge. And did we mention a panel of chocolatier judges from Hershey, Mars, and Godiva called it the best fudge available? We’ll take a free sample (and some to go), please!

Fudge Farm

Speaking of fudge, have you been to Fudge Farm? They offer more than fudge – just look at their Instagram to see some of their over-the-top milkshakes. A milkshake might not travel well, though, so you should either stop by after dinner for one or get some chocolates instead.

Gaby et Jules

If you dream of French desserts, like macarons from Ladurée, Gaby et Julesis probably the closest you can get in Pittsburgh – Chef David trained there before making his way to the states. But, you can get more than just macarons! Try their pastries, chocolates and confections. Plus they ship nationwide, in case your sweetie is a Pittsburgher at heart.

Le Petit Chocolat

Remember when we told you to treat yourself at Le Petit? Consider this a gentle reminder…or a hint to treat your beau. Le Petite Chocolat is baking up amazing cupcakes, cookies, and pastries. Or, if you plan ahead a little, you can place a special order for some of their gourmet chocolates.

Mon Aimee Chocolat

Mon Aimee has *plenty* of chocolates to choose from. They sell everything from artisanal chocolates to chocolate barks to marzipan to nostalgic candies. We guarantee you’ll find something that will make your sweetheart smile.

Sarris Candies

Is it even Valentine’s Day without Sarris Candies? We would love you forever if you get us some of their chocolate covered pretzels. Or cordial strawberries. Or peanut butter meltaways. Or…well, you get the idea.

Sinful Sweets

No matter what your sweetie likes, Sinful Sweets has you covered. A box full of whiskey truffles? Added to cart. A jar full of safe-to-eat cookie dough? Also added to cart. We’ll bring the spoon!

St. Moritz Chocolatier

If you work downtown, stop by St. Moritz Chocolatier for your honey. You can even pre-order chocolate covered strawberries – available for pickup after 4:30pm on Valentine’s Day – or get chocolate delivered via UberEats!

The Chocolate Moose

The Chocolate Moose has tons of options, including sugar-free and kosher sweets. They also have a great variety of imported candies, so if your sweetiepie is a transplant to Pittsburgh, you can give them a little taste of home.

The Milkshake Factory

It’s not a list of Pittsburgh chocolates without The Milkshake Factory. We love their s’mores, in case you’re still looking for our gift 😉 We’ll also take some gummy bear bark if they have any. But seriously, try the gummy bear bark.

The Butterwood Bake Consortium

If your babe is vegan, check out The Butterwood Bake Consortium. They have some of the most delicious vegan baked goods, plus plenty of non-vegan treats, too. You can get single servings of their sweets, or get a whole cake to have some left for breakfast the day after Valentine’s Day.

The Farmer’s Daughter

We couldn’t leave flowers off the list, and The Farmer’s Daughter has some of the most gorgeous flowers we’ve seen. They also have a variety of other gifts, in case you’re looking for something accompany your beautiful bouquet.

4121 Main

Some of the other prettiest flowers we’ve seen are at 4121 Main. We love that they have coffee, tea, cards, and other gifts, too! Visiting is an experience to be savored, so this is a great place to go with your sweetie.
