Everyone knows that fall weather in Pittsburgh can be fickle. It might be beautiful for weeks or we could have snow tomorrow. So, you should take advantage of the nice weather while it’s here by enjoying a few of our favorite outdoor hangouts!

Biergarten at Hotel Monaco (Downtown)

With a variety of European beers and German-inspired snacks, the Biergarten at Hotel Monaco is one of the “it” places to be. Plus there are games like like Jenga, corn hole, and a giant Connect Four, which the inner-kid in us can’t resist.

Il Tetto at Sienna Mercato (Downtown)

Because of its retractable roof, Il Tetto is open year-round. It’s perfect for those beautiful evenings when you just want to be outside. But the glass roof also makes it a great place to go when you wish the weather was a little nicer.

The Library (South Side)

Tell your folks you’re going to The Library and enjoy literary-themed snacks on their second floor patio instead of hitting the books. And did you know they have a late night happy hour? Grab a couple friends and call it a study date while you study the drink menu.

Carson Street Deli (South Side)

Everyone knows Carson Street Deli has some of the best sandwiches around, but did you know they have an outdoor patio? They also boast an impressive beer selection, many of them local, and a new happy hour with small plates. We’ll take the bacon flight, please!

Double Wide (various locations)

The weather is officially “nice” when Double Wide’s outdoor seating area is full. Bonus: their menu has tons of vegetarian and vegan options (we love the veggie burger!). Double bonus: they have a dog-friendly area so you can bring your furry friends with you.

The Urban Tap (Shadyside location)

If you’re walking in Shadyside, you’re bound to pass the crowd outside of The Urban Tap. Why not join them and settle in for an evening of good drinks, good food, and good company? We love the sidewalk seating for a little people-watching, too.

Steel Cactus (various locations)

If sidewalk seating isn’t your thing, head to Steel Cactus for another rooftop patio. They also offer brunch on the weekends, and who can resist brunch with a view?

Beer Garden at Federal Galley (North Side)

You know about Smallman Galley, but have you been to their sister restaurant-incubator, Federal Galley? If not, climb out from under that rock and head to their beer garden! Between a bar and four restaurants, you can go all fall and never have the same meal twice.

Penn Brewery (North Side)

Penn Brewery is a classic Pittsburgh establishment! Their food is delicious, and their beer is even better. You just can’t beat beer fresh at the brewery.

Round Corner Cantina (Lawrenceville)

@roundcornercantina

Get your Mexican fix at Round Corner Cantina while dining al fresco. Did you know that fresh air makes tequila taste better? Ok, fine, we totally made that up…but we think someone should do a study because we’re pretty sure it’s true.

Strange Roots (Millvale, Gibsonia)

Strange Roots, formerly Draai Laag, has two taprooms that are perfect for long evenings catching up with friends. Order a flight so you can try a few of their funky beers, which even non-beer-lovers have been known to fall for!
