Looking for ways to burn off all the good eats this holiday season? Well look no further than the 32nd Annual YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Turkey Trot presented by UPMC Health Plan held on Thanksgiving Morning.

Benefiting the Allegheny YMCA and their Homewood and Hazelwood food pantries and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, the Turkey Trot has helped the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh distribute approximately 80 tons of food to local neighborhoods. Event participants are encouraged to bring their non-perishable donations when they pick up their packets or on the morning of the race. A list of food that is still needed can be found here.

Registration is now open for three different race options: a 1-Mile Family Fun Run at 8:00 a.m., the 5K presented by UPMC Health Plan at 8:30 a.m., and the 5-Mile presented by FedEx at 9:15 a.m. Participants who would like to run in the 5k and the 5-Mile can do so in the “Double Gobble” presented by Gentile, Horoho & Avalli, P.C. Those 18 & under can register at half-price.

This year’s event also includes a Coloring Contest. Families can download the coloring sheet here and complete the sheet for a chance to win a $50 DICK’S Sporting Goods gift card! Photo submissions should be shared on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and tagged with YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh (@ymcapgh) and P3R (@RUNwithP3R)  by 11:59 PM ET on November 22 to enter. Entries can also be submitted via email and sent to info@p3r.org.
