Jordin Sparks to headline 5th annual Women Who Rock Benefit Concert!
The 5th annual Women Who Rock benefit concert will feature headlining act multi-platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks! The all-ages show will be held October 15th, returning to Stage AE for a night of memorable performances, all for a good cause. The schedule of bands and activities is stacked this year!
The multi-platinum singer/songwriter has accomplished many accolades since winning season 6 of American Idol. Led by her first hit single “No Air”, Sparks’ grammy nominated self-titled debut sold over two million copies. And then came “Battlefield”, which dominated the radio and had everyone singing along to that chorus. Why does love always feel like a battlefield?… a battlefield…a battlefield! Let’s just say that her powerful vocals and catchy pop anthems will bring the house down!
In an LA interview, Sparks talked about what brought her to the event. “We really need to figure out ways to uplift women, to make sure that their voices are heard, and also to make sure that they’re being taken care of, which is why I really love this event,” Sparks said.
The unique show has an all female-fronted lineup. Singer/songwriter-guitarist and Austin’s own, Emily Wolfe, will be performing her special blend of bluesy driven rock. Local acts include the awesomely raucous Tiny Wars, which features guitarist Abby Krizner from 105.9 The X. Also, DJ Huny will take the party to new heights with the jams! Get ready!
Dr. Lisa Rohan will receive the 2022 Women Who Rock Impact Award. The party will be led by Michele Michaels of 102.5 WDVE–she returns for the fifth year in a row as the emcee!
The setup is really cool, making for an atmosphere where you can enjoy the music while also checking out a number of things: the Beauty Bar, social sharing photo booth, silent auction, VIP Lounge, VIP gifting suite, pink carpet entrance, and a performance from the winner of the Women Who Rock Rising Star Contest.
All Proceeds from the concert support Magee-Womens Research Institute–the nation’s largest research institute dedicated solely to life-saving womens health research. Founder of WWR, Melinda Colaizzi, has been doing an amazing job of expanding WWR each year. Past headline performers include Sheila E. and Rita Wilson.
