October in Pittsburgh is the best. We’ve got falling leaves, changing colors, and tons of awesome, spooky events planned. Need help narrowing down the list of things to do? The Cultural Trust is making it easy by hosting the sultry, chocolate-themed soiree we’ve always dreamed of.
The Chocolate Bar at the Benedum
Complete with mystery and masks, explore the darker side of chocolate at this Saturday’s Third Annual Chocolate Bar masquerade, certain to give you edgy, decadent feels. Think Phantom of the Opera, but with more chocolate and less singing.
Held in the Grand Lobby at the Benedum Center, you can indulge in everything from ganache truffles to chicken mole to chocolate-infused cocktails, like this year’s signature drink from Pirata. A twist on the old-fashioned, this cocktail replaces whiskey with rum and adds chocolate. YES. PLEASE. With over 20 local restaurants and chocolatiers involved (including A519 Chocolate, Butcher in the Rye, and a Milkshake Factory Pop-Up), you can taste a few or taste them all – we won’t judge.
Come dressed to kill in cocktail attire but leave the masquerade masks at home – you’ll indulge in the mystery even further by creating a personalized one at the event.
Not a chocolate fan (wait, that’s a thing)? Don’t worry, the fun doesn’t stop there. You can satisfy your other senses with dessert-inspired couture fashions, mingle with the models of Dougherty Agency, dance to DJ SMI, and more.
So, we’ll see you Saturday, right?
