Giving traditional Oktoberfest a tea-infused take is Millvale’s Ok-Tea-Beer-Fest event. Naturally it will still be steeped in tradition – that is the fine tradition of brewed beers, brewed tea, and the tea-rrific combination of the two.

On Saturday, October 5th Tupelo Honey Teas in Millvale will host the 21-and-over-only event where you can partake in 10-15 one-off brews created by Three Rivers Association of Serious Home Brewers, T.R.U.B, Pittsburgh Beer Ladies, and A Few Bad Apples.

Enjoy a live band playing biergarten bumping tunes, vendors selling German-style food, and wander from table to table trying those one-of-a-kind tea-infused drinks. Attendees receive a taster cup, samples of all the drinks, and tickets to vote on the best beer and cider. This event takes place outdoors so if you get chilly warm yourself by the firepit and enjoy some s’mores.

Not to be out-brewed Cousins Lounge and Howard’s Pub will be featuring a tea cocktail and even the local sweets shop is getting in on the action – Yetter’s Candies will shake things up with a Millvale Famous Beer Milkshake.

This year’s brewing parti-sip-pants have been feeling a bit saucer and they know that you should never kettle for second best so they’ve been blending their little beer and tea-loving hearts out just for you. No need to herb your enthusiasm – among the night’s special drinks expect a Honey Ale using a custom blended white tea, a Pumpkin Stout using Chinese Five Spice Oolong tea, and a Gruit Ale using Simple Pleasures tea. Bring a lump of extra cash for the 50/50 and basket raffles and don’t loose steep over taking your chances as all proceeds will benefit the Millvale Volunteer Fire Department.
