The start of the year is a great time to evaluate your professional career goals. What are you hoping to accomplish at work this year? Are you looking to make a shift? What objectives are you setting for yourself?
Attending networking events and joining a professional association can help you set and meet your 2020 goals!
Kick-Off 2020 With a Free Networking Event
The must-attend networking event of January is the 2020 President’s Wine and Cheese event hosted by Pittsburgh Young Professionals (PYP). This is an annual, free event that brings together hundreds of young professionals.
You’ll get to mingle with PYP members and the organization’s leadership. The incoming Board of Directors will introduce the new leadership team and talk about what PYP plans for in 2020.
Benefits of Joining a Networking Organization
Pittsburgh Young Professionals is the oldest young professionals organization in the region. With over 600 members in fields ranging from business and legal to non-profit and healthcare, this organization offers a diverse, tight-knit community. The group is deeply rooted in Pittsburgh. In fact, Mayor Peduto declared October 2 as Pittsburgh Young Professionals Day in 2018.
One of the best things about PYP is the number and variety of events they host. With around 50 events per year, they hold events all around the city. It’s one reason why PYP made our list of the best networking groups in Pittsburgh.
Between networking events, dinner parties, professional development events, speaker series, and charitable opportunities, there’s a lot to get involved with when you’re part of PYP.
President’s Wine and Cheese Event
So if one of your professional goals this year is to meet new people, consider attending the President’s Wine and Cheese Event. It’s free for members and non-members alike, and as PYP’s largest event of the year, it’s the perfect way to get exposure to the organization.
Even if you decide that joining a networking group isn’t for you, this event is a free opportunity to meet other professionals in the area. Cheer’s to setting and reaching career goals in the New Year!
