Market Square will be the home to Dollar Energy Fund’s Cool Down For Warmth event, which features restaurant giveaways, music, Bowls for Warmth Soup Tasting, and a Pitt basketball ticket giveaway! We have everything you need to know!
Coolest House Ever!
This is a rare opportunity to take a tour through an ice house! The annual fundraiser raises awareness and funds for local families in need of heat during winter months. All donations collected will receive a dollar-for-dollar match from partnering utility companies. You’ve never seen a house like this before!
Restaurant Giveaways
Each day features restaurant giveaways! But you have to be there at the right time in order to get the giveaway because it’s only available while supplies last. Luckily, Made in PGH has the exact times in order to get the giveaways!
The giveaways begin at 9 a.m., where you can receive a coupon for a free hot coffee and donut from Dunkin’ Donuts. Head back to Market Square at 10 a.m. for a free Smiley cookie, courtesy of Eat’n Park. After lunch you can get a free appetizer coupon from McCormick & Schmick’s, which happens at 1 p.m. The next and final giveaway is Chick-fil-A free sandwich coupons at 2 p.m. All giveaway coupons, which are available while supplies last, can be received by touring the ice house and visiting any event kiosk in Market Square!
Bowls for Warmth
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
After touring the ice house you can warm up by joining Bowls for Warmth, presented by BNY Mellon! Sample three soups from your choice of participating restaurants. Vote for your favorite! Tickets are $10 and all proceeds will go directly to help families in need of utility assistance. Make sure you come early because soup sales are while supplies last! 3WS will be playing music in Market Square throughout the event.
Score Pitt Basketball Tickets
On Friday there will be a Pitt basketball ticket giveaway. How do you win them you ask? All you have to do is visit the ice house starting at 8:30 a.m. and you’ll receive a free pair of tickets to see Pitt take on Syracuse on February 2 at the Petersen Events Center. Make sure to get there before tickets are gone!
