AURORA + Mellon Square Holly Trolley

While you’re on the Holiday Hop, you’ll experience Pittsburgh’s newest holiday tradition, AURORA. This radiant wave of light brings Mellon Square to life, creating a magical atmosphere for families, friends, and visitors of all ages. The kids will love this beautiful light display — plus, it’s a great photo op for the whole family. You won’t want to miss it!

In addition to AURORA, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is providing the Mellon Square Holly Trolley all season long. The trolley runs from Mellon Square and Omni William Penn Hotel to Market Square (between PPG and the ice rink on 4th Ave.) to the Cultural District (Katz Plaza). It will arrive approximately every 15 minutes between 1-8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 28th and is free to ride. Hop onto the trolley to enjoy a festive ride between tour stops!

Be sure to stick around after the Downtown Holiday Hop to see the AURORA light show in its prime after the sun goes down. Keep Pittsburgh Dope will be taking free family photos after the tour from 5:30pm – 8:30pm!

Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy’s dedication to Pittsburgh’s parks, big and small, truly shows through the festive cheer they’ve created in the city. In the holiday spirit, a portion of Holiday Hop proceeds will be donated to the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy to support bringing life and magic to all of Pittsburgh’s parks.
