Conversational punch lines come natural for New York City based comedian, Collin Chamberlin, and the laughter that ensues is non-stop with his presence on stage. Once a Pittsburgh native, he’ll be boomeranging from the Big Apple back to the City of Champions to perform at the Pittsburgh Improv where he’ll be recording his first live album thanks to Helium Comedy Records. Join the contagious hilarity, and reserve your tickets here for his four shows on August 11, 6:30 PM and 8:45 PM and on August 12, 6:30 PM and 8:45 PM.
Chamberlin has performed on stages from the Arcade Comedy Theater to the Benedum Center and is known for sellout crowds at the Pittsburgh Improv. Throughout his career, he has shared the stage with some of the best comedians in the industry, including Pete Lee, Mark Normand, Adam Ferrara, and SNL’s Kenan Thompson. Those stages include cities from Philadelphia to Nashville through national tours at comedy clubs including the renowned Comedy Magic Club in California along with The Funny Bone, Improv, and Helium. Chamberlin notes, “While I have performed nationally, I started my career at fire halls, VFWs, high school proms, church basements, and the occasional pool party.” Now, he’ll be sharing his milestone recording back in Pittsburgh.
The comedy doesn’t stop at on-site gigs. In addition to his on-stage calling, his podcast, Hell Gigs, shines a unique spotlight on memorable performing mishaps, a series-of-unfortunate events for crowd control, and other cringeworthy, hilarious happenings throughout his comedic career with other comedian guests who have shared similar facetious fates.
Now on August 11 and 12, listen live to stories that have shaped him to take the spotlight in humorous glory. He’ll share 412 stories of fast-food experiences, bat intrusions, grandpa’s post military stories, and new tales to tell for the live recordings. Comedy enthusiasts are allowed to come to multiple shows, for $10 each, to be part of as many recordings that will be clipped to make his live album. Chamberlin adds that there will be a variety of new material for each show.
“This is where I started comedy,” says Chamberlin. “I want as many Pittsburgh laughs for my fist album, because this is where it all began at the Improv.”
