Are you ready to laugh all weekend long?
The 4th annual Burning Bridges Comedy Festival returns to Pittsburgh this Thursday 3/21 through Sunday 3/24. Founded in Pittsburgh by local comedian John Dick Winters, this fest has grown in popularity each year since its 2016 inception.
With fourteen shows and over sixty comedians from all over the country, they boast to be, “the largest stand-up event in Pennsylvania. Probably.” There will be one-off shows at Arcade Comedy Theater, Bella Notte in the strip, Nordy’s Place on the PITT campus and a secret show; address to be named later. Club Cafe will host a weekend of sold-out headliner shows including The Boogie Monster Podcast Live and Legendary comic Todd Barry. The bulk of Burning Bridges will take place at the home venue; the Burning Bridges Comedy Club in Lawrenceville.
Bummed to be missing the headliners? Never fear, there are yucks aplenty with a variety of themes shows from across the country. There’s Strip Joker, a body positive show from Chicago where comics perform in their underwear. Midnight Friday there’s One Liner Madness from Brooklyn, which is a bracket-style contest where the best short joke wins until there’s only one comic left standing. Our personal highlight is HOTDOG! a hotdog eating contest slash stand-up comedy show where comics have to eat hotdogs during their sets and can’t leave the stage until they’re done. We promise this incredible show out of Columbus is one you cannot miss.
