Maybe you love watching cooking competitions on TV, or maybe you’re still reliving the pierogi-making competition from last weekend. Either way, if you’re anything like us, you’ve definitely thought that you could judge a foodie competition. Well, at Allgreen Eggfest this Saturday, you can!

Everyone who attends Eggfest gets to be a judge! The whole event is centered around cooking on Big Green Egg ceramic charcoal smokers, hence the name. Cooking teams – some professional chefs, some amateur pit masters – will smoke their best recipes. All you have to do is taste as much as you can and then vote on which cooking team made your favorite dishes…to help decide the most Eggcellent chef (ha!) Some of last year’s fan favorites included smoked deviled eggs, pizza, bananas foster, potato chips, and even smoked bourbon and tequila.

Besides four straight hours of food, there will also be cooking demonstrations and live entertainment. In case you get thirsty, Mazzotta Winery, Stick City Brewing, and By the Wayside Coffee Truck will all have plenty of beverages. There will also be vendors like Miller’s Mustard and Oil & Vinegar selling grilling related gifts. Or, you know, things you can just buy for yourself…we won’t tell! And you can also shop around at Allgreen, of course.

If you’ve ever thought about cooking on your own Big Green Egg, Allgreen will be selling the demo Eggs used by the cooking teams at uh-mazing discounts! They have a limited number available, so make sure you contact them ASAP if you’re interested.

And did we mention that a portion of the proceeds from the event benefit South Butler Community Meals on Wheels? You’re not only living your dream of being a food competition judge by going to Eggfest, you’re also helping the community. Get your tickets now, and we’ll see you Saturday 9/28 from 11am-3pm!
