To honor the heroes of September 11th, 2001, Crunch Fitness McKnight is challenging their staff, gym members, and members of the community to participate in the 9/11 Remembrance Climb.

This moving tribute invites everyone to climb 110 flights of stairs, representing the 110 floors of the World Trade Center Twin Towers. Every year on the 9/11 anniversary, local firefighters (dressed in full turnout gear) utilize the Stairmasters at Crunch to honor the first responders who lost their lives.

Anyone in the community is welcome to join Crunch Fitness in this challenge to pay tribute to the fallen first responders. You don’t have to be a current member of Crunch Fitness to participate. The event is open to all fitness levels and participants can choose their level of involvement—whether they climb a single flight of stairs or complete the full 110-story challenge.

Participants will receive a free one-week membership to Crunch Fitness McKnight as well as a feature on Crunch’s social media pages.

To participate, visit Crunch Fitness McKnight (8050 McKnight Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237) on Thursday, September 11th anytime between 7am – 9pm. Let a Crunch Fitness staff member know you are there for the 9/11 Remembrance Climb, and they will guide you in how to complete the challenge.

This event not only recognizes the sacrifices made by the FDNY, but it also serves as a reminder of the efforts local fire departments make on a daily basis. By participating in this event, you will honor and remember the sacrifices made on 9/11 by those courageous individuals who ran up the 110 flights while everyone else was running down.
