If you’ve never eaten a freshly picked strawberry or a tomato still warm from sitting in the sun, you’re missing out! Luckily, thanks to our local farmers, you don’t need to grow your own produce to eat some that’s grown practically in your own back yard. There are farmers’ markets literally all over Pittsburgh, so there’s no excuse to not go. And, a lot of farmers’ markets sell other local products, like soaps, syrup, honey, baked goods, and teas. And and and, many also have vendors selling pre-made food, like hummus, salads, bagels, or even feature food trucks. What are you waiting for? Scroll through our list to see which farmers’ market is most convenient for you!

Lauren loves all things Pittsburgh and all things food! When she's not checking out a new restaurant, you can find her in the kitchen trying a new recipe, working on her photography, or out on a bike ride exploring the city.

  1. A lot of these markets accept SNAP benefits! For those who receive benefits, for every $5 you spend at these markets (here is a list https://www.justharvest.org/fresh-access/), you’ll be able to receive an extra $2 to spend on fruits and vegetables. Spend $10, get $4…spend $20 get $8, etc! Help spread the word so that all of our neighbors are able to participate in supporting our local farmers! <3
