If you aren’t a typical concertgoer, you may not be super familiar with the different concert venues around the city of Pittsburgh. Allow us to introduce (or reacquaint) you with the fabulous indoor/outdoor concert and event venue in Pittsburgh’s North Shore, STAGE AE! The Made In PGH team along with some local influencers hit one of their shows this month, Third Eye Blind and Taking Back Sunday, and had an absolute BLAST. This one-of-a-kind concert venue allows for indoor concerts during the dead of winter, and outdoor concerts on warm summer nights. If you haven’t checked out this venue yet, let us tell you why you need to ASAP.
As we mentioned, Stage AE is located in the North Shore which allows for stunning views of the Pittsburgh skyline. Whether you’re at a daytime festival or an evening concert, this view is truly unbeatable. The outdoor space not only allows for stunning views but also has several stands for purchasing your favorite adult beverages! When you enter the venue at the main gate, you will find a row of snack and beverage stands where you can pick up Mike’s Hard Lemonade, White Claws, IC Lights, Iron City, and Yuenglings, compliments of Pints Over Pittsburgh (@pintsoverpittsburgh). If you’re looking for a craft beer, Pints Over Pittsburgh also stocks Sierra Nevada, Southern Tier, Great Lakes, Rhinegeist, and Lagunitas at Stage AE!!
During the outdoor concerts, you can find more drink stands to the left and right of the stage, and one toward the back (adjacent to the bathroom trailers). One thing that is great about Stage AE is that they always have indoor restrooms available, but when the concert is outdoors, they also have several trailers with bathrooms far beyond the realm of porta potties. This allows for a quick bathroom break so you don’t miss any of the action during the concert or event! For indoor concerts, there is a bar that spans the length of the room at the back of the venue. Also, capacity is lower indoors so having one set of bathrooms works perfectly.
Now let’s chat tickets. For most concerts, they have General Admission and Platinum GA Seating ticket options. General Admission is standing room only and can be found down by the stage on a concrete area and extended up into the lawn area. It’s all unassigned so feel free to stand wherever you like and even relocate during the show depending on the vibes. Platinum GA Seating, as the name suggests, comes with seating. With these tickets, you will have wait staff to check on you throughout the concert to put in drink orders so you don’t miss any of the music! Accessible seating is also available for those needing accommodations!
All shows are rain or shine, so be prepared if the weather doesn’t look like it will be in your favor. However, when our crew went to Third Eye Blind, the rainstorm made the crowd that much more lively and wild! When the temperature starts to cool down later in the year, Stage AE will make the change to indoor concerts (this will be designated on your ticket so you know what to prepare for).

If you’re driving into the city, there is a parking lot next to Stage AE behind a strip of bars (Southern Tier, Bar Louie, Tequila Cowboy, etc.) and a parking garage across the street. If you’re coming from out of town, there are two hotels within walking distance of Stage AE — Hyatt Place Pittsburgh-North Shore and Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Shore Pittsburgh. Both make it easy to walk over at show time and get home quickly without having to worry about any traffic.
