We have found that around 8 items provides enough versatility to have any event covered. Our capsules consist of 3 tops, 2 pants, 1 skirt, a jacket, and a versatile clothing accessory.
What brands make for the best / are your personal favorites for capsule wardrobes?
My personal favorite is my own brand, Kiya Tomlin, of course! There’s nothing better than wearing a sweatsuit everyday, everywhere– from casual to cocktail! Another noteworthy brand is Le Cloud, by Amy Schumer for their focus on plus-sizes. Tech-inspired brand, Pivotte, offers capsule pieces that aren’t so much fashion-forward styles, but are good for women wanting simple, classic staples in technical fabrics.
How often do you shop after containing a capsule wardrobe?
Once you have your capsule wardrobe down, there’s really no need to shop unless you like to, or want to spruce up the collection with something new or trendy. Capsules are great for people that do not like to shop or do not have time to shop, as well as for fashionistas on a budget because it allows you to get creative coming up with new ways to style your few pieces.
