Need an excuse to get out of the house for the evening? Shuffle your way over to Carnegie for their monthly Carnegie Crawl. This family-friendly event takes place on the second Friday of each month thru October from 5p-9p — The next event is Friday, August 13.
Each month the participating businesses and activities change so be sure to check out their website to see the latest haps. And new for August is The Carl Shuttle to help you get around and maximize your evening as you check out special deals, refreshments, events and entertainment along the streets of Carnegie!
(PS. Find the different Carl the Snails at each of the participating businesses and get your game sheet stamped. Turn your completed game sheet in at Artsmiths and you’ll get a goodie bag including a free kids cone from Scoops!)

Artsmiths
Located at 329 E. Main St, Artsmiths is a non-profit arts and cultural center dedicated to providing arts education to all. They have a range of art classes including free arts education outreach services for at-risk youth. In addition to the classes and outreach their shop (also available online) showcases unique handmade products by local artists.
Duran’s Restaurant & Lounge
John Duran has been providing good times at 12 E Main St since 2006 with his well-named Duran’s Restaurant & Lounge. One of Carnegie’s staple restaurants, this family-style pub is a great place to gather with your friends to watch the Buccos game or just enjoy a meal with an adult bev.
Eccentricity Design LLC
Pop over to 135 E Main St for “Today’s look for you and your home” at Eccentricity Designs LLC. This woman-owned, small business focuses on providing exceptional, personalized customer service. Stop in to shop (or shop online) to find unique designs for your home and the latest boutique fashion items for yourself. If you’re looking for a bigger refresh then utilize their 17 years of interior design experience to redecorate your space. Follow on Facebook to stay updated on new and exciting things in the store and remember, once items sell, the same product will likely not be available again.
Nailed It DIY
In the mood for some DIY? Check out Nailed It DIY at 237 E Main St for your chance to hand-build wood decor for your home. Open Studio hours allow you to pop-in whenever the DIY bug strikes you or you can reserve a seat in advance. Learn about their kiddos camp and birthday options or how to book your own private event like a team building event, bachelorette party, GNO, etc. The sky’s the limit. They also do off-site events, fundraisers, and love to partner with other local businesses. Their motto is “We teach, you create.” Nailed It is participating in the Find Carl the Snail scavenger hunt. Be sure to stop by and have your kid find Carl the Snail and once they get all stamps they will earn a “take and make” art project to create their very own Carl!
Pittsburgh Pottery
The perfect souvenir stop, Pittsburgh Pottery is a showcase of handmade, hometown pride in the form of “mud transformed into art”. Their studio at 309 E Main St is also their retail location (products are also available for purchase online). Fun Pittsburghese sayings adorn mugs and ornaments and celebrate the uniqueness of Yinzer culture.
