Let’s discuss a very controversial topic that divides people across the world every fall. You’ve guessed it: it’s Pumpkin season. Whether you’re a die hard pumpkin lover or just a tolerator, we have brought you a list of the best of all things pumpkin in Pittsburgh that everyone can enjoy!
Pumpkin Beer – Southern Tier Brewery
Since it’s opening in 2002, Southern Tier Brewery has become one of the top mass producers of signature ales across the nation. The Pittsburgh location has become a local staple that offers several options of beer specifically for Pumpkin lovers every fall. This year is no different as they are serving a variety of flavors from the infamous Pumking family. This includes their highest seller Pumking, which has been named among the Top 10 Fall Craft Seasonal in the Country and gained a spot as an Untappd Global Top Ranked Beer throughout the fall season. Other variants in the Pumking family include Warlock, Pumking Nitro, and more! All of the Pumking variety in addition to Southern Tier’s extensive selection of other ales are available to be enjoyed for limited indoor and outdoor dining as well as pick-up.
Pumpkin Patch – Fair Haven Farms
Looking for something the entire family can enjoy while remaining socially distant? Fair Haven Farms located just outside of Pittsburgh is offering tons of wholesome family fun and activities with plenty of open space and fresh air. They are now open for the 2020 season every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until November 1st (including Columbus Day). Fair Haven Farms’ fall festivities include an extended Hayride route that takes riders to the Pumpkin Patch, a challenging corn maze, a petting zoo, family fun center, and much more! Pumpkin Eats – Mezza Luna
Mezza Luna is a new cozy cafe located on Western Ave in the Northshore area. They offer fresh baked goodies, appetizers, sandwiches, handcrafted espresso drinks, and much more. Specifically for pumpkin season, Mezza Luna has created an extended menu with some of our favorite traditional pumpkin bites in addition to original creations. This menu includes Pumpkin Snickerdoodles, Pumpkin Mac and Cheese, Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins, Chocolate Pumpkin Breakfast Cookies, and a Pumpkin Spice Frappe.
Pick Your Own Pumpkin (PYOP) – Triple B Farms
You’ve heard of BYOB but have you ever tried PYOP? Triple B Farms located 15 miles from the ‘Burgh is offering guests the chance to pick their own pumpkin. After grabbing your pumpkin head over to the Sweet Shop and choose from an array of pumpkin pies, rolls, and muffins. Triple B Farms is also open for all of the traditional fall family fun activities and tickets are sold only online. Ticket admission includes hayrides, animal barn & education acres, 2 corn mazes, observation beehive, pumpkinland, & jumping pillows. All activities are designed for adults & children to enjoy together.
Fall Festival Featuring Pumpkin Patch, Costume Contests, and More – The Strip District Terminal

As the popular Strip District area continues to overgo a transformation, the team at the upcoming Strip District Terminal retail development is bringing us the full fall experience on October 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Fall Festival will include a pumpkin patch, offerings from several local vendors, a costume contest, and a chance to explore the historic produce terminal. The vendors at the festival will include City Grows, Paul Family Farms, Sturges Orchard, Chez Lapin LLC, The Pickled Chef, Threadbare Cider, Wise County Biscuits, Thrive on Health, Twin Brook Dairy, Bedner’s Farm and Greenhouse, and Mediterra Bakehouse. Costume wearers be sure to snap a pic of yourself at the event and tag @sdterminal on Instagram! Awards will be given to the Best Four-Legged Friend Costume, Best Adult Costume, and Best Kid Costume.
