Who doesn’t constantly dream about redoing spaces in their home or apartment? I know I am always itching to paint my walls or refurbish an old end table. There are so many home decor websites and stores that have me reimagining my bedroom layout or kitchen countertops. Well, that all starts with your unique style. I’ve collected a list of shops in our area that each adds a little piece of something special to any home decor refresh.
Everyday Eclectic Home & Gifts
Looking to support local by shopping online? Everyday Eclectic Home & Gifts gives you an option to purchase off their social media posts each Wednesday if you don’t feel comfortable going home decor shopping in person. If you’d rather shop in person you can make an appointment to do so on Fridays or stop by on a Saturday or Sunday. Their shop is located near the Castle Shannon area of Pittsburgh. My favorite thing about this shop is that each week when they do an inventory refresh, they post a walk-thru video to their Instagram account. That way if you aren’t in the area you can take a look at what they have in store before making the trip to see it in person. They have a combination of vintage and retro decor including mirrors, planters, framed prints, lamps, and even unique items like the vintage suitcases pictured.
Hot Haute Hot
This furniture and design shop is located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Strip District and showcases handpicked items. Some of their items are available for purchase online, however, you will find much more available at their shop. They sell everything from couches to flower vases to colorful, vintage rugs. The prices vary based on if you’re buying furniture or small home decor pieces, but trust me when I say you won’t find items like these anywhere else.
Splurge
Located in Fox Chapel, this higher-end home decor shop is the perfect place to find that extra special piece you’ve been looking to “splurge” on. Cheeseboards, serving trays and other dinnerware can be found under the Dining & Entertainment section of their website, splurge-shop.com. If you’re looking for a stunning lamp or sculpture for a family room or entryway, head to the Home Decor tab on their site. Smaller items like platters can be found for around $50 while extravagant items like couture throws can be found for a higher price.
