It seems like spring in Pittsburgh always sparks the interior design part of our brains. It brings out the Chip & Jo in us (shiplap everywhere!) but where do we start. Well first, you know, money comes first. Then you need the inspiration and we’re here to help. Here’s a couple of the top renovation categories that we saw at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show this year.
Roofing
Starting from the top, maybe the most mundane, but certainly essential! If you have ever had a leaky roof then you know what we mean *raises hand*. From solar roofing to good old shingles there’s tonnnsss of vendors, large and local there to help. To name a few we’ve got A & S Contracting & Roofing, Buccos Roofing, Liberty Roofing, Zeke & Son and more (just select the Roof Repair/Install category).
Waterproofing
This would also be a less exciting renovation if we didn’t live in Pittsburgh, the city of basements. We mean, who gets more rain now – us or Seattle? The Home & Garden show is a great place to start vetting out some vendors like Ark Basement Services, Baker’s Waterproofing, Keystone Basement Systems, and more (just select the Waterproofing category).
Decks
Picture this. Nice Boyd & Blair (yes, you can find them at the Home & Garden Show too!) cocktail with some fruity fixings and your feet up, soaking up the sun on your deck. Yep. That’s what we were picturing too when we walked around the exhibits for these decking companies. Better Living Patio & Sunrooms of Pittsburgh, Hodgekiss Construction and Deck the Yards are here to help along with a few other friends (just select the Decks category).
Bathrooms & Kitchens
What more could you ask for than a fresh kitchen or bathroom remodel? While inconvenient, it’s worth the time, effort & money. We can tell you from experience. These old houses in the Burgh, while flooded with character, were not built for the 2020 lifestyles we live. That’s why there’s so many companies that help with this at the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show this year. From Acclaimed Kitchens to Cabinet World to Lifestyle Kitchens and more, there’s so much inspiration at the convention center this week.
There’s many more options out there for those of you who have saved up or those of you with smaller pockets at the moment. What we’re saying is get to the Pittsburgh Home & Garden Show and be inspired to freshen up your home sweet home for spring. Check out the hours for the final days below:
