Halloween is quickly approaching, and whether you feel closer to a personal form of magical or witchy practice this time of year (or love someone who does!) or simple want to dabble a bit with the dark arts, now’s the perfect time to light a candle and feel the magical vibes! Pittsburgh’s metaphysical, occult, and witchy shops offer all the natural supplies and gifts you need to make it happen, as well as readings, ritual workshops and more:

Maude’s Paperwing Gallery

Maude’s Paperwing Gallery is a queer and woman-owned metaphysical and LGBTQIA+ gift shop with a perfectly witchy vibe for the spooky season. Whether you’re looking for practical (and magical) gifts like crystals, herbs, and cauldrons or want to express yourself with clever patches and pins for customizing apparel, Maude’s has you covered. (They’re also raising funds to open a queer-owned space and bar in Millvale, and your purchases can help bring Harold’s Haunt to life!)

Hocus Pocus

According to Hocus Pocus’s website, it’s the oldest occult-focused gift shop that specializes in the “arts magickal” in the city, and it’s been open in Oakland for nearly a quarter of a century! Inside, you can shop their witchy collections for everything you need for apothecary craft, sage and smudging supplies, gemstones and crystals, bulk herbs and oils, tarot supplies, and so much more. They even offer curbside pickup, or you can visit the store in person to browse!

Point Breeze

Relaunched in October 2020 as Ceremonial, this Point Breeze metaphysical shop sources high-quality, local ingredients and supplies for all your ritual needs. Shop cleansing bundles, crystals, books, incense and candles, essences and teas, and so much more. You can also book a reading with shop owner Leslie to delve deeper into the questions and moments of your life that you’d like to reflect on. She can even develop a ritual spell with you to help with current challenges in your life!

Dr. Tumblety’s Time-Inspired Specialty Shop

Located on Warrington Avenue in Allentown, Dr. Tumblety’s Time-Inspired Specialty Shop combines the best witchy, magical gifts with vintage goods, historical curiosities and a delightful speakeasy vibe (and a literal speakeasy in the back, shh)! Stock up on grooming and cosmetic supplies, books, essential oils and incense, apparel, tonics, and more – and soon you can pick up some spirits from their partner business Inspired by Spirits Distilling Co.!

Elemental Magick

Sewickley’s Elemental Magick is a women-owned metaphysical gift and supply store fully stocked with items for decorating both yourself and your home! Shop Elemental Magick’s signature collections of crystal skulls and jewelry to help channel the energy you need around you and in your space, as well as books, candles, incense, and other handmade items for local and specialty artisans.

Arts & Crafts

Arts & Crafts (short for Dark Arts & Witch Craft) is a Bloomfield-based botanical and occult shop that features a full selection of products used for a variety of folk magical practices. Shop goods like incense, altar tools, sage, waters and washes, and more for your unique practicing style, and if you’re new to your craft, you can take part in classes and events at the shop! Arts & Crafts also offers readings, cleansings, consultations, and reiki services.

Whiskey Moon Boutique

Whiskey Moon is an online boutique that formerly owned a shop in Lawrenceville, and while we miss its storefront deeply, you can still shop all their goods virtually! Featuring absolute cutest candles (many of which are embedded with crystals and herbs), Halloween-themed apparel and homeware gifts, and ritual supplies like crystals and oils, Whiskey Moon offers all the perfectly pastel witchy vibes your heart desires.

Mystic Embers

We’ll let Mystic Embers speak for themselves here: “We encourage practitioners to discover and embrace their own craft, because we believe that the greatest magic is found within!” To help make that happen, the Coraopolis shop carries a wide range of supplies and witchy gifts for defining your own style of magic, from dried herbs and candles to oils, books, decorative items, and new items added weekly. The shop also hosts events and classes and offers oracle card readings!
