All Aboard the Wine Tasting Train! No, this isn’t when you stand in a circle with your friends and pass around a bottle of cheap wine. This is a much better opportunity to spend some quality time with your friends while enjoying quality local Pennsylvania wine from local wineries.

The Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad opted to venture down a new path during its inaugural Wine Tasting Train ride on Friday, June 21. THAT EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT! But lucky for all of us they have added two more events! July 12 featuring August Falls Winery and September 20 featuring Deer Creek Winery.

Each ticket is $30 and includes a 3 hour scenically-ambling train ride, between 6 to 8 different varieties of the local winery’s wines, and some light refreshments.

Everyone will technically be seated in Coach but it will feel like you’re riding First Class during this travelling mini-wine festival. The train departs at 6pm and returns around 9pm – which means you’ll get a lot of time to see the rolling Pennsylvania hillsides while you sippa-sippa while you chugga-chugga during the out-and-back trip!

These 21+ only events requires advance reservations (which have to be made the old-timey way by calling 814-676-1733) and each is limited to only 200 passengers — but with a ticket you’ll be on track to enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Pennsylvania wine-and-railroad country!

If you look to make a blast-to-the-past weekend of it be sure to get off the beaten hotel path and max out on your railroading adventures by opting to stay overnight at the Caboose Motel — which offers 21 authentic train-caboose-turned-motel rooms. The next day you can round out your rural PA countryside plans by checking out more to do in the Titusville region — like Oil Creek State Park along with some historic attractions.
