The Aspinwall VFD Flea Market brings together a variety of local vendors every Sunday from April to November. The location is right in the middle of Aspinwall in the Municipal Parking Lot. Shop local crafts and art, along with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Located on the banks of the Allegheny River, the Aspinwall Riverfront Park is a new public park in Pittsburgh. Formerly the Aspinwall Marina, it was purchased to become a park in 2011. Take a walk on the Highmark quarter-mile walking trail. Kayak on the river or play with your dog in the dog park. It’s a perfect outdoor spot.
Down the road from Aspinwall in Fox Chapel is a shopping center that houses most of your main staple stores. For those of us living in the city, it’s a great spot to come shop that has wide-open parking lots. It’s home to Giant Eagle, TJ Maxx, Barnes & Noble, and other big-box stores. Eat at Burgatory or Walnut Grill when you’re done with your shopping. And don’t forget dessert at Cold Stone!
