Not even two weeks away until the crafting extravaganza known as the Handmade Arcade will open its doors to visitors on Saturday, December 8th from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. at the Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh.
For those of you that haven’t visited before, the Handmade Arcade was established in 2004 as a venue for crafting enthusiasts and artists to showcase the cutting edge of crafting and artwork, setting up a venue for patron customers to shop for one-of-a-kind gifts for the holiday season.
Set to be even larger than before, the Handmade Arcade will be host to a slew of vendors, nearly 240 vendors from across all different facets of design. Visitors will be greeted by the event Sponsors tables, featuring the works of David Pohl Illustrations, The Artsmiths of Pittsburgh and Una Biologicals.
Upon entry, guests will be shown to many different categories of crafting and fine goods, ranging from the following categories:
Some of the most exciting categories of vendors are to include The Youth Makers, a grouping of adolescent’s craft makers that will be showcased at the Arcade. Vendors in this group will include Arashi Apparel, Hannah Jones Art and My Canvas.
In addition, guests will be able to watch and dive into a DIY group project setting of crafting with artists that will be curating their pieces in real time and working with visitors to make for a more personalized object that they can take home with them. Some of the spectacular pieces are to include Letterpress Posters with Bat Cat Press, Family Ever After Quilt with Every Child Inc., along with Holiday Wrapping Paper with Artist Image Resource (AIR)/ Capa High School.
With an array of vendors, it is certain that there will be something for everyone at the Handmade Arcade.
The Handmade Arcade will be next week on Saturday, December 8th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center at 1000 Fort Duquesne Boulevard, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
