
Valentine’s Day is coming up, we get it (looking at you, jewelry and flower commercials). If you don’t have plans or you’re not into the super mushy stuff, we got your back. We’ve gathered a list of some of the unconventional Valentine’s and Galentine’s events going on around the city, and they don’t disappoint.
6p-10p | You’re probably thinking back to your class field trips to the Science Center in grade school, but stay with us. This 21+ event will feature a traffic light party (wear whichever color indicates your relationship status), speed dating, a large-scale fluid swap simulation (we’re concerned but curious), and even adult experiments and science lessons. Besides, when else can you drink in the Science Center?
6p-10p | Add a spark to your Valentine’s Day by picking up a little something at this naughty Valentine’s Market. Or, bring your sweetie for an exciting and unusual date night. It’s a free event hosted in partnership with Toll Gate Revival in Lawrenceville, and it’s sure to spice up the weekend.
If you’re into something a little more vanilla (get it?), consider a cooking class. Gaynor’s offers classes on everything from baking to fine cooking. Bring a bottle of wine, your honey or a few friends, and enjoy your hard work!
6p-8p | Like desserts? Then you should probably check out Gluten Free Goat’s Galentine’s Day event. Decorate cookies, enjoy snacks and wine, and make a craft with your best pals. Plus, everything is gluten-free, vegan, soy-free, and corn-free, so it’s practically healthy, right?! If you can’t make the event, you can still place a Valentine’s order for your favorite treats, or check out one of their other upcoming events.
American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition. Plus there will be a candy bar and raffles for cool gear.
6:30p – 9p | Grab a friend and head to the Heinz History Center for a fun Galentine’s Day. Start off with an hour of yoga, followed by prosecco and a chocolate chip cookies while you tour the new exhibit,If you’re spending Valentine’s Day with a beer drinker (aren’t we all?), check out Hop Farm’s dinner with beer pairings. Not only will you get four courses, you’ll be the first to sample some of their barrel-aged brews. Make your reservations by emailing them soon, because spots are filling up fast!
