With three parks (Moon Park, Olson Park and Robin Hill Park) totaling 600 acres of green space, Moon Township Parks & Recreation offers fun for the whole family all year round.
The largest of the three locations, Moon Park, is a particular favorite with visitors thanks to its space-themed playground and adjoining splash pad, amphitheater, hiking trails, five picnic pavilions, four tennis courts, three basketball courts, two pickleball courts and more.
And if all of that isn’t enough to get you there, the township offers a wide range of events throughout the summer.

Touch-a-Truck at Moon Park
Saturday, May 17th from 11am – 3pm
See trucks from all over and meet the people who operate them! Fun for all ages and food trucks on-site.
Moon GLOW 5K Run & Walk at Moon Township Library
Friday, June 27th from 7:30pm – 10pm
Runners and walkers will light up Moon Township during this fun-filled evening of glow sticks, neon face painting, great music and other activities!
Pokémon GO Fest Homebase at Moon Park Amphitheater
Sunday, June 29th from 12pm – 3pm
Attention trainers: While you’re enjoying the global in-app Pokémon GO Fest, stop by this one-day-only homebase where they’ll have team lounges, concessions, charging stations and more.
Independence Day Celebration at Moon Park
Friday, July 4th from 4pm – 10pm
Celebrate the Fourth of July at Moon Park with food trucks, free family fun and entertainment, plus a grand finale of fireworks! This year’s entertainment features Sons of Beaches (a Jimmy Buffet tribute) at 5pm and Mister Breeze Band (a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute) at 8pm. (There are no dogs allowed in the park for this event.)
Youth Fishing Derby (Ages 5 – 10) at Moon Park
Saturday, August 9th ( 8am and 10:15am timeslots)
Enjoy a morning on the water catching fish at Nelson Pond. More information regarding registration to come at moonparks.org.
Wizarding Festival at Moon Park
Saturday, September 6th from 4pm – 7:45pm
