Oktoberfest is coming to downtown Pittsburgh – October 3rd – 13th! The festival is a project of the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership and Flyspace Productions. Oktoberfest Pittsburgh will transform Market Square into a Bavarian village with booths and traditional Oktoberfest decorations.
You’ll enjoy traditional music, food, a Biergarten, a KinderPlay family area, and a fun-filled Karneval on Sixth Street that will feature food vendors and carnival style entertainment, including a landmark 60-foot Ferris wheel on the Roberto Clemente Bridge – the first of its kind in Pittsburgh’s history!
Witness Breathtaking Views of the City
Prepare for the ride of your life with unforgettable scenery of Pittsburgh’s cityscape and rivers on the 60-foot Ferris wheel.
Presented in partnership with Riverlife, a non-profit organization dedicated to the redevelopment of Pittsburgh’s downtown riverfronts, the wheel’s development has been a labor of love for all involved. The Ferris wheel is one more additional way that organizations such as Riverlife and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership are working to invigorate urban public spaces.
After the ride, explore Sixth Street and a plethora of activities inspired by the Oktoberfest fairgrounds in Munich, at the Karneval. Ferris wheel and Karneval hours are 12pm – 10pm on weekdays and weekends with extended hours Sunday, October 6th: 12pm -12am. Ride tickets are just $5 and can be purchased in advance on the festival website.
Enjoy Food, Music, Endless Beer + More!
Head to Market Square to taste a host of delicious Bavarian and German staples. Try bratwurst, pretzels, and strudel provided by Primanti’s, Original Oyster House, and an array of other vendors.
Wash down all the yummy goodness at the pop-up Biergarten tent, styled after Munich’s famous beer halls. Quench your thirst with a mix of Pittsburgh local brews, imported German drafts, ciders, ales, and non-alcoholic options.
Do your best polka dance along to a classic blend of tunes one comes to expect at Oktoberfest, including the traditional toasting song “Ein Prosit”. Last but not least, settle in for a series of competitions and ‘Feats of Strength.’ Participate in both team and individual challenges to showcase your talents. Or watch from the sidelines!
General admission to Oktoberfest Pittsburgh is completely free, however, certain activities require the purchase of tickets. Food and beverage will also be available for purchase – guests must be 21+ to buy alcohol.
