Throughout history, Pittsburgh has been the epicenter of innovations that have changed the world. And this May, TEDx Pittsburgh takes over the Soldiers and Sailors Museum to showcase and spread ideas that promise to transform our city, region and world.
As an offshoot of the incredibly popular TED Conference, TEDx is the hyper-local, independently organized version of the larger TED-experience. In preparation for this year’s local TEDx event the Pittsburgh team, an all volunteer squad, has been working around the clock to create the region’s premier platform for transformative and thought-provoking ideas.
In an effort to achieve those ideals, the PGH team has selected 13 speakers, with Pittsburgh ties, who will present talks related to this year’s theme – Activate: Ideas in Motion. These individuals have taken service, innovation, and community building to another level, creating a ripple effect that has made life better for others. These inspiring talks will be presented at the equally as incredible Soldiers and Sailors Museum in Oakland.
