Pork & Beans is open for business.
It’s been in the works for quite some time, so news that they’re up and running is sure to pack the seats of this Downtown eatery. Of course, that won’t come as a surprise to anyone who knows anything about Pittsburgh’s food scene. Anticipation has been mounting since word got out that Richard DeShantz of Meat & Potatoes, Butcher and the Rye and täkō fame, would be teaming up with Keith Fuller, formerly of Root 174, to open Pork & Beans.
Walking into the restaurant you’ll be met with a casual, rustic vibe that matches the menu. Smoked meats, including brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and ribs are the focus here. You’ll also have your choice of sandwiches (think, kielbasa and chicken) as well as essential sides, like potato salad, mac-n-cheese, and burnt end baked beans. Add a stellar bar program featuring an epic draft list and solid cocktails to the mix, and this place easily earns a spot on your Pittsburgh restaurant bucket list.
