As Pittsburgh continues to make headlines as a tech hub, some local organizations are working hard to make entrepreneurship inclusive and accessible.
Make your way to The Shop in Homewood for an event dedicated to companies that are doing good while making money. Thanks to The Forbes Funds, The Greater Pittsburgh Nonprofit Partnership and Fygment Productions, in partnership with Venture for America, the Social Enterprise Expo will explore the challenges and opportunities that come with building a successful company while having a positive impact.
This event will feature Project RE startups, UpPrize finalists, and Social Justice Weekend teams, in addition to other businesses on the rise in Pittsburgh.
Leslie Miley, Director of Engineering for at Slack, the communication and messaging app values at more than a billion dollars, will be in Pittsburgh on April 6th for RealTalkPgh.com.
Hailing from Silicon Valley, Leslie has held engineering leadership roles at Slack, Twitter, Apple, and Google. During his talk, expect a timely and relevant look at how for- and non-profit organizations can combine technology and inclusion to serve their city, cause, and company.
This far-reaching talk will extend well beyond building software, making it a worthwhile event for individuals from all industries and backgrounds. Oh, and if you’re still debating whether or not you can make it, keep this in mind: there’s FREE childcare available on site and complimentary eats from local Homewood caterers.
No excuses. See you there.
