The Women Who Rock concert at the Hard Rock Café last month was a huge success, filled with amazing performances that brought the house down.

The night kicked off with a sold-out VIP appearance from legendary drummer Sheila E., who greeted the long line of excited fans with an autograph signing of her new book. Want more? The event had everything, from a beauty bar to a pink carpet. The show was emceed by Michelle Michaels of WDVE, and the 2018 Women Who Rock Award Recipient went to WTAE’s Kelly Frey, who gave a powerful and inspiring speech to the crowd.

Pittsburgh female fronted bands lit up the stage throughout the night, which included Karya Duo, Molly Alphabet, Allissa Logsdon and Lyndsey Smith, who closed the night with an uplifting soul stirring rock revival. But we aren’t done yet! The encore featured all the performers, which also included singer/songwriter and founder of the event Melinda Colaizzi, as they jammed on stage to a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Gold Dust Woman.” It was an awesome way to end the night, which benefited the Magee-Womens Research Institute.

As the lyrics say, “Rock on Gold Dust woman.”
